THIS WEEK’S COVERAGE
GREATEST HITS
How many times a day do you check your email? If email is interfering with your productivity, set time blocks and check email only a few times a day – most experts recommend 3 to 5 times at most.
Harvard Business Review published a great article on How to Spend Way Less Time on Email Every Day.
Bright Ideas
1. In my reading over the last week, one of the interesting tidbits that I came across was that, according to this LinkedIn poll, only 41% of respondents are using personalized video in their prospecting.
If you aren’t yet using video? Why not?
One of my more successful customers is a guy name Ben Thompson, and in a recent chat on Clubhouse (follow me @TrentDyrsmid), Ben shared that he makes extensive use of personalized video in his prospecting – with stellar results.
If you aren’t yet using video because you aren’t sure what to do, here’s some advice to follow.
2. Double Double is one of the books that I really enjoyed. Learn more here.
3. Want to learn more about the future of social media and some trends you should track? Check out what my friend Mike Stelzner, founder of Social Media Examiner has to say.
4. As you may or may not know, SEO is a big part of my plan for this year and it doesn’t have to be as complicated as you might think. To see what I mean, check out the Beginners Guide to On-Page SEO.
Under the Hood
Over the last few weeks, I have invested the bulk of my time into Flowster’s new outbound marketing engine so that we can easily generate more demos.
Last week, I actually published a thread on Twitter to share what has worked really well so far, what hasn’t worked as well, and what we are doing to improve.
The part that is working really well is the tech stack that I built. Look for the blog post that describes this in detail, as that will be published any day now. The hold up is that my poor wife, who works as my editor, has too much work on her plate and I keep adding to the pile. (Sorry honey!)
The part that needed improvement was the targeting and the messaging (duh).
To tighten up the targeting, I’ve enlisted the help of a guy named Noah Green from London. I’ve been super impressed with that Noah has done and look forward to seeing results soon.
The other part that needed to be improved was our messaging, and to help me with that, I have collaborated with Stefan Smulders, the founder of Expandi, the safest tool on the planet to automate your prospecting on LinkedIn.
After reading that Stefan grew Expandi from zero to $4M in ARR in just 14 months, I knew that he was a guy I could learn from!
As I’ve written elsewhere, I’ve been super diligent about documenting absolutely everything that we are doing and we are going to make this freely available to all Flowster customers who are on our Enterprise plan.
If you aren’t on that plan yet, fear not. We have some specials that will be made available once the Outbound Marketing Playbook is ready.
