My Fellow DTC Brand Owner,
Growing a DTC brand business is hard work. You have competitors to beat, employees to hire, and customers to attract.
Fail at any one of these things, and you are in deep trouble.
You want to grow, yet physical products take large investments of capital, so however much you grow you always need more cash.
The pressure is intense, and sometimes, despite your never-give-up mindset, you quietly wonder, “how the hell am I going to pull this off?”
You Are Not Alone
The good news is that virtually every other DTC brand owner is going through exactly what you are – day in, day out.
We all want to win, build a wildly successful company, and sell it one day for a mountain of cash.
We just have to get through this week/month/quarter/year, execute our business plan, and we’ll get there, right?
You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know
A long time ago, I realized that the very best way for me to discover new ideas, tactics, and strategies to grow my business was to spend as much time as possible with other entrepreneurs on a mission similar-ish to mine.
Once I started to do that, not only did I discover valuable golden nuggets for growth, but I also developed relationships that I could lean on for years to come.
Some of these relationships eventually morphed into partnerships, and it has been from these partnerships that I have been able to realize some of my greatest achievements.
The Process & People Matter Most
Over my two decade-long career as a founder and CEO, I’ve realized that there are two things that I need to rely on more than all else; processes and people.
Oddly, not every CEO I’ve talked to shares this belief.
Some think that their success is the byproduct of people alone.
While I definitely agree that having the right people on the bus is key, no matter how talented your team, they will have a far easier time with execution if you have a comprehensive collection of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place.
“We get brilliant results from average people managing brilliant processes – while our competitors get average or worse results from brilliant people managing broken processes”
~ Fujio Cho, Honorary Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation
SOPs Will Set You Free
I’m a huge advocate for having SOPs, as they have served me incredibly well. I own several companies, and they all rely on SOPs for every single one of our repeatable processes.
For example, one of my businesses is an eCommerce business that I started in 2016. I had a day-to-day role for only 6 months before I was able to delegate myself out of a job. In 2019, that company ranked #254 on the Inc 5000.
Without having our SOPs, there is no way I could have hired as many virtual assistants as I did, and without the virtual assistants, I would have had to hire traditional employees at a cost that would have been 10-20x the cost of overseas labor.
A Mastermind for Process Junkies
Try as I might, over the years, I was never able to find a mastermind group where at least one of the major areas of focus was on creating Standard Operating Procedures…so, I decided to create my own.
If you share my belief that processes are critical to the success of your company, I invite you to apply to join us today.

Ok…seriously…some of the above might not be feasible, but we are going to do some really fun shit!
